Man looking at his gun accidentally shoots himself in the head

Bayonet Point, Florida — A 73-year-old man was looking at his .25 caliber handgun Tuesday night when it went off, shooting him in the forehead, Pasco County Sheriff's Deputies said.

Investigating officers said the injuries were not life-threatening.

The incident occurred at 7407 Terrace Drive, Bayonet Point. The victim's name was not released.

The initial call came into Pasco Fire Rescue and they notified the sheriff's office at 8:35 p.m., the sheriff's office said.

It was being investigated as an accidental shooting.

Man how do you wind up looking at your gun with the barrel pointed right at your head? The only way I'll ever get that view is if the barrel is out of the slide.

 that's hilarious. Gotta love the media, and the police's concern for anonymity.

Does this add proof to the concept of never coming to a gunfight with any weapon that begins with a number less than 4? (even if that gunfight is with yourself...)

Settle down guys, I'm just repeating what I read.

OH, and if you look closely, 9mm is actually a number greater than 4....

I may be a bit of a 45 sackrider, but 40 is good too. 357 is quite clearly effective and to be honest I think the rest of the rule was "starts with 4 or ends in magnum" or something like that. There's a thread about it somewhere here.

And 380 isnt bad, but it's not great, 32 is def out of the question IMO though. Anyway, we all have our preferences, sorry if i offended.
