    according the height weight thing..
    im 40 pounds overweight..
i have a little stomach and slight love handles..
what i hate the most is my 'stomach' itself isnt jiggly its like a solid kind of fat.. but the sides (love handles) are disgusting and jiggly :wtc:

ive been doing the 8 minute abs thing..
but i feel like wasting my time..

    Starting tommorow (monday)
i plan on dieting bigtime and eating nothing but healthy stuff..
and exercising 5-6 days a week..

what are the best fat burning workouts.
and whats the best stuff to eat?

im probrably going to start weight training next week..
but for now would riding my bike for an hour a day do much? + crunches

  5. well doing crunches aint gonna make your abs show.. it'll stimulize them but you still need to tweak your diet and do cardio in order to lose that excess fat layer.

make sure to lift weights when you lose weight however because you'll regret it when the weight is lost and you want to pack on some lean muscle.

riding your bike would be fine if you aren't going to start until another weak but its not gonna do much until you do the following things i mentioned

yeah but if i do the crunches that builds muscle correct?
    and building muscle burn fat?

  7. it won't build muscle if there is no weight applied to it... in order for your body to adapt to the weight it has to endure it builds muscle.. therefore doing crunches will really just make them harder kind of like if you did hundreds of push ups a day your chest will get hard but not necessarily stronger.

building muscle isn't gonna burn fat you gotta lose the fat first.

heres a list of good foods: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/stella9a.htm

good stuff to me: chicken breast, tuna, shrimp, steak, and other yummy ass meats (im more concentrating on building muscle than burning fat though).

doing ab exercises will build muscle, but if you want them to show, lose the fat. and you cannot spot reduce fat... you must diet.

building muscle not neccesarily burns fat, but lifting weights aide in fat loss.

correct me if im wrong F&N

If you want to lose weight, its all about calorie deficieny. I suggest you do heavy weights for approximately an hour. Then hit a treadmill, a bike, or elliptical, or combination of the three, whatever tyou likeb est, for a half hour after. That way you'll have maximum energy to work out with, and will burn off the rest after. Eat right, weight lifts six out of 7 days of the week, and on hte 7th do cardio only, and you'll be on your way to a slimmer, stronger self. By the time you lose all that weight, not only will you be skinny, but strong. I suggest picking up some fitness magazines to get some ideas on how to set up your workout. Muscle & Fitness's Guide To Arms was a very good magazine for beginner, as was Men's Health ULTIMATE ABS, i suggest you pick them up :wiggle:

get a short, simple routine going thats focused on compound excercises [squat, dead, bench, chins, dips]. it'll give u the most bang for ur burn. the ab shit is a complete waste of time for where u are at the moment. do cardio, compound lifts, and gauge ur caloric intake, making adjustments as needed. u should be on ur way. -_-

Work out 7 days a week. Lower your calories to 1500.

Overweight on charts and such doesn't apply to anyone athletic. They are basically talking about 'fat' weight, when we are trying to gain, 'muscle' weight.
