i will openly admit i am not the most loved member of gun crew. my gf bought a bersa thunder .380 and we have not fired it yet. i was messing around with it a little today(unloaded of course) and it will not dry fire when you pull the trigger back with no mag... doesnt matter if its on safe or fire when you pull the trigger back there is no resistance at all it just goes all the way back and does not engage anything mechanically, is this normal with this pistol?

doesn't the bersa have a mag safety? the mag has to be in it to fire it (even dry fire)

yeah that's normal. my browning BDA does the same thing. with no mag inserted, you can pull the trigger back and it will go all the way with no resistance, but it wont engage anything

    which is fuckin retarded.

I dont remember which bersa my roomy has, but it's also a .380. It is a bitch to shoot at the range. I had to stop after ~30rds because it hurts.

When it recoils, I guess the back or bill of the handle, impacts my thumb joint on my shooting hand. Happens with a proper grip. Shit was red as fuck.:o

But other than that, shot fine.

^^ What kinda hands do you have? I have small hands bordering on girly, and I found that gun supremely comfortable and easy to shoot (which is why I love it so).

So put an empty mag in it and proceed to dry fire.
