Really just looking for a clear answer on this. Are whole eggs bad to eat everyday. Someone convinced me it was fine so I've been eating 2 whole eggs with 1/2 of oats for breakfast for like 3 months, and now some people are telling me that it's way too much fat and cholesterol.

What's the deal? Should I switch to egg whites only? I'm trying to drop some pounds while training for the police academy.

When I was eating 6-10 whole eggs a day my cholesterol and lipid profile were great. So, yes it is fine.

Depends a lot on genetics and whether CHD runs in your family.

It does. In fact my father was in the ER last night with extremely high blood pressure. He's supposed to be on Lipitor but he refuses to take it.

when it comes down to it , it depends what fats (or are residing in your body from previous meals) when you eat with your eggs.

If you eat bacon, it will have a negative effect, but avacado or olive oil will not

I only ever eat bacon with breakfast as a cheat meal, so no more than once a week at the most, and even then its turkey bacon.

I'd personally just pay attention to how it fits in your macros. If you're eating only whole eggs but the rest of your diet is low enough in fat to not push your fat intake too high, I wouldn't worry about it.

i've been eating 5 eggs a day every morning for almost a year, and my cholestorol levels are great.

Like synthetic said - it depends what else you eat with that. Other then steaks ever few days, eggs and chocolate are my main sources of saturated fat.

Genetics play a role, but as does the rest of your diet. A diet high in anti-oxidents, omega-3 and fats that are high in steric acid will help

there is more protein mass in the egg white..... so why not just dump the yellow anyways before getting full to gain more protein.

Because Egg whites alone are bland and tasteless. I just throw a whole egg or two with my egg whites in the morning, as do most people here

    I eat whole eggs everyday.

I never worry about the cholesterol because my diet is pretty decent. I eat a lot of monounsaturated fats from EVOO, avocado, fish, nuts, seeds, etc...
I also eat oats nearly everyday which is shown to reduce cholesterol.

If you're young and eat pretty well I wouldn't worry about it. Once you get into your 40's it might be worth it to get your levels checked just be safe and see if genetics caught up with you. High blood pressure, high cholesterol and heart disease run in the family. I'm 24 and healthy so I don't worry about it. Once I get into my 40's it might be worth it to keep an eye on sodium and cholesterol more thoroughly.

thats why you be creative and mix something with the egg whites!!

i like to stuff the egg whites with a polish beet - horse raddish mix, or drizzle a lilttle olive oil in the middle. and have it with a nice whole grain bread

Stupid mentality. I knew a boxer who had a heart attack at 29 .... you'd think he is healthy just by looks.

It is better to take offense on an issue instead of paying to fix the consquences.. THis is why healthcare in america is fucked as the mentality is let me do whatever and the doc will prescribe a pill for it.

the stress you put your body though being so odd and picky is prolly more damage than some eggs will do.
