Never done this before, so I guess I don't really know where to start.

I ordered a Mossberg 500 slugster today with a scope base. I can't seem to find out what 'style' the base is though. Is 'weaver' the standard style?

According to my other thread, and Goat's response, the scope I'm using will have a 1" body, so I've atleast got that part somewhat nailed down.

My next question is, how do I know what height rings to go with? Anyway you can tell by looking at the pic?

Thanks for helping out the ring newb. :wavey:

Looks like a weaver mount to me. Looks pretty good height already, but it's very personal.

Unless you have really high cheekbones or a lot of cheek fat you could go with standard height 1" rings. I like Millet and Leupold rings but other guys here have other opinions.

I'd probably go with low, but I've never mounted a scope on a shotgun so I can't say 100%.
