    Used D3 for ~3000?

    or

    New D700, MBD10 grip, ENEL4 battery, MH22 charger, and BL3 battery door for ~3000?

Im never gonna shoot professionally anymore and one thing I love about the D3 is/was its battery life. I suppose Id get that with the D700 in this configuration... Id lose a card slot and some weather sealing but I dont know that I care about that anymore.

    Thoughts?

D3 for ~100% VF coverage. I just took around 3000 pictures while vacationing in Japan (with D300). I love the fact that I don't have to crop anything with the shots I made with D300 due to its ~100% VF. What you see is what you get!!!

I would say d3 all the way... the only thing that would hold me back is cls... It comes in pretty handy for me. Sure there are ways around that... su-800, pw etc... That adds to the expense though. What I like about the d3 is that its smaller and lighter than a gripped 700.. the double cards, battery life, and from what I hear the af is a bit faster.

Well it would actually be even less than that. I can get a new D700 through Nikon for ~1999 :eek3:

I think Ill be going that route.

Even if/when a D700 replacement comes out, the D700 is still going to take amazing pictures. Im getting...

    D700
    MBD10
    ENEL4a
    MH22
    BL3
    GP1
    SB600

for $2900 and its all brand new. Its kinda hard to beat.
