but, i have come to the conclusion that my car needs a stereo system because the ctock unit is about fubar.

i want a head unit, a sub, and some 10s. any suggestions as to what to look for in good, relatively inexpensive ones?

go spend some time on sounddomain.com on their forums, learn up so you don't end up getting ripped off or being given bad advice and end up with junk equipment installed improperly.

Or just go to a reputable local shop. Sounddomain's forums has plenty of idiots spewing incorrect or biased information, so without knowing anything in the first place, it's hard to know what to take as fact and what to take as 16yr old opinion of how good his friends system is because it's the loudest of the 3 he's heard. Do your homework, go to shops, get as much info as possible if you want to make sure you do right. A simple sub/amp setup isn't too hard to get right.
