im reading on bb.com that full body routines are way better to pack on mass... but right now im on a split workout and it seems to be working pretty good when i change it up every 3 or 4 weeks. never tried a full body routine, but is it better to pack on mass or is split better because you get to train on each muscle for a longer amount of time?

Full body routines are ok for beginners, but theres a reason why you've never seen a real bodybuilder doing anything less than a 3 day split.

I use a 4 day split. One major section per day. Works well for me.

whatever works is fine right? i assume it also would be beneficial to switch it up every few months or so from splits to full-body. i've heard the more you confuse your body the better the gains.

If you're new at training, your body can recruit less muscle fibers and you recover faster because you can cause the same amount of damage as an advanced trainee. A full-body or 2-day split is best in this case because you'll be able to hit the muscle more often to compensate for the inability to recruit them fully. The more you do a movement, the better your body gets at recruiting muscle fibers, thus the need to practice the basic lifts more often.
