I'm walking myself over to b&h tonight, I want to buy some new glass...I need one that will show that distortion more in the range of a fish eye lens but not as much....hard to explain.

Now what throws me off is because I have a digital slr (d200) the sensor is smaller than that of a 35mm even though the camera accepts 35mm glass. So in turn if I bought a fisheye would i then get what I want as far as that distortion or should i go with a superwide?

go for the 10.5 fisheye... the Capture NX software will straighten it out some if you so wish. Other than that get the 12-24.
