Ok I have two options right now. Basically this laptop will be on or near AC power or an adapter for the truck the most it might be asked to do off the power cord is play a DVD. Whichever I get will be around for a while and need to run everything from word and excel to AIM to video games to some coding and compiling, basically it needs to do just about everything that you can think of or I would ever ask a computer to do.

I'm just going to post all the specs on both option 1 and option 2, both are Toshiba machines costing $1,399. So if there is anything negative I should know about toshiba let me know. If you have any alternatives you would like to recomend let me know. But basically which or the two machines would you choose.

and I am going to ask one question I have left on these specs. In option 1
    OPTION 1 is says

I think Option 2 is a more solid configuration overall.

However, if playing games is a big issue, option 1 has the edge. It has a dedicated GPU. Option 2 only has integrated video.

thanks, but can you explain why option one seems to be a more solid configuration, I like to make well informed choices.
