Whaddup...I recently got one 12" 4ohm+4ohm Alpine Type R and a JBL600.1 amp. I was wondering what ohms i should have it. Should i give it 4ohms with 300watts or have it at 2ohms with 600watts and just have the gain down. I want my sub to hit HARD but not blow. Thanks..:)

I would go with the first idea 4 ohms and 300W

You have 2 options with that amplifier. 1 is to wire the coils in series to present an 8ohm load to the amplifier. I would suggest against doing that... 2 is to wire the coils in parallel, and that would present a 2ohm load to the amplifier. I would strongly suggest going this way. If you are not foolish with the volume knob, you will have no problems.

damn it did not even register in my simple mind that you are using the 600.1 amp. yeah that is a mono amp. I was thinking you were using a 2 channel amp and were going to put a coil on each channel. ignore my response as some days I am retarded.(most days actually)
