Horror flick set in Moscow, made by russian of kazakh descent. Apparently movie is getting praised everywhere. Tarantino was like  when he saw it (movie cost only 4.2 mils to make). Fox Searchlight publishing movie in US and prolly will give the director 100 mils to do the Night Watch 3.

Either way I'mma watch this movie in about an hour or so and tell my verdict soon.

I heard about it, sounds pretty cool and real violent.

Violence is ok. I don't think it's that violent. Couple of boobies here and there. And brilliant russian tradition, there're no R rated curses.

Nice premise. Nice ending (like ending ending). However there're so many unnecessary scenes. So much shit that was overdone a la Constantine.

I liked faces (lots of character), I liked acting for the most part. I loved fincher-esque special effects, which for 4.2 mil dollars are absolutely amazing.

However, I think this movie should've been shorter and without shitload of unnecessary scenes.

I also didn't like the editing.

    Directing wasn't bad.

Overall it's all right, overdone, but all right. It's far from bad, but I won't call it good.

I'm definately impressed, because that's first russian movie that's watchable since like 80's. However, it left same sour feeling in my mouth like after Constantine.

Hopefully Bekmambetov get better fast, cause he's already 44.

But how did it rate as being the first of a three part series?

hmmm, it's very hard to judge it like that.

    *minor spoiler*

It has an ending that begs for a trilogy, but it's not bad as a standalone movie.
