Ok, so I decided to play with lighting stuff. This is the first time I have ever tried to make the lighting the way I want it, I usually just work with what's naturally there. Ignore the crappy emo makeup and the fact that these are soft (damn focus. I tried manually focusing it on a magazine with varied results...), I'm looking for some lighting hints. :o What am I doing right? Wrong?

To me, it looks like you need more lighting sources. You're only using one I take it, yes?

You should ahve got someone to hit you in the face, would have added to emo look, but otherwise you need light # 2

those shots make me think there should be cig smoke wafting in the shot somewhere. Kinda makes me think of an interrogation room.

I think the first and last need some bounced light to highlight the cheekbone maybe?

I like 2 and 3. Like posted above, they have that interrogation room feel to them. #2 just could have used a bit more light, but I am quite digging #3.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback, guys. My "setup" consisted of a living room lamp, a dish cloth, and a mirror, with some dark sheets hanging behind me. xD

    Camera's just a Canon Powershot sx100 IS.
