    :noes: :noes: :noes:

my battery kept going to sleep at about 33% instead of going all the way down to 0%

it would do it whether i was using it or not

im pretty damn sure this shouldnt happen

what do you guy THINK/KNOW the problem could be??? :run:

im guessing they might toss a new battery my way. OR maybe it could be the motherboard and i could get a new laptop!!!

i have an 867 g4 12inch powerbook with a 3 year warranty at CompUSA and ive had it for 2 years and 4 months

CompUSA is great for me. My hard drive went a year ago and they let me keep the laptop, ordered a new one, i brought the laptop in, put it in in a day, and i was done, friggen great. so if i get this battery/new computer, it will be a good deal on the waranty since it cost 500.00 :wiggle:

plus im busting my screen in afew months, and they without a doubt will give me a new one, so im set and set

back to my 33% powerbook problem, any ideas? :dunno:

sounds like a dying battery, or more likely, a battery out of calibration. not sure how to calibrate a battery on a mac. Perhaps some OF command?

I had the logic board go out on my 667, they just replaced it. I wouldn't mind it going out again here pretty soon so I could get a new laptop.. I think if it breaks three times I get a whole new laptop. and yeah, I got it at comp with the warranty

In the system profiler it will tell you how many cycles the battery has done.. Chances are its just a old battery.

I'm glad my compUSA doesn't have any mac experts there. I took it in and told them I was having a bunch of kernel panicks and the hardware test CD said it was the logicgoard. they told me they would replace the logicboard without even looking at it.

    Are all compUSAs like this?

that isnt true...it could be the hard drive

cause i was getting them as well and it was my hard drive going, so you never know

if you have a warrenty FROM compusa (not applecare, compusa's is called TAP) then itll be free anyway
