Due Summer 2010 (maybe)
estimated sticker price of $1,000,000
As pictured with the REDmote Pro: ~$5700 + lenses
I know what Red is, but not what's special about this camera. Explain.
I was thinking about the red ONE, that fugger came out with like $17,000 price tag...
RED Epic >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> RED ONE.
Epic will be about $28k brain only.
lol @ #21
i would like to see their dSLR
You're looking at it.
They aren't making an actual DSLR, Epic and Scarlett are what the rumors were referring to. A DSLR-like video and still capable unit selling for under $10k (Scarlett).
Might make more sense if you see it in the "DSLR" configuration:
They got owned by Canon and the 5dMII...
Jim & company has had this spec sheet up for the last 3 years almost, pushed it forward to '10 when the 5dMII came out and re-did their whole product page
PRODUCT BACKFIRE !!!
Plus Canon has a few new rumored goodies for next year and 2k/4k stuff...
Things that RED & Jim need to learn....
1. The Thompson Viper is light years ahead of them...
2. The new Sony Cine-Alta is light years ahead of them...
3. The Phantom high FPS is light years ahead of them....
4. Rendered product images don't cut it...
5. If you don't support your vendors... they will leave you (and I'm seeing it now)
anything else ??
where is the viewfinder?
Its sold separately, only costs $1500 for viewfinder.
What the fuck
Looks like something Home Depot would sell.
too much money. i always liked the ONE, but goddamn, who would pay that much?
companies that rent them out to film makers would be my guess
i have no idea what is going on in here
8mm x 6mm sensor fail.
It's fine for video but I just can't see photographers getting a boner for a P&S sensor in a $10,000+ body. The Epic FF35 is more like it, but it will be 11ty dollars.
Who gives a shit is photographers get a boner for it?
Also, it's not $10k+. Fail.
Didn't you just say this is the DSLR from RED like 5 posts ago?
It is, easily. The body for $2750 is nothing more than a sensor in a box. You've got to add a ton of options to make it something you can actually use. Fuck, it won't even turn on until you add the $1700 battery module.
Body - $2750
EVF - $3200
Side handle - $900
I/O module - $2250
Battery module - $1700
Total - $10,800 That's not even including lenses!
$4000 more than a D3x and it's got a $100 P&S sensor.
when they first announced this I thought it was going to be a game changer...
like 3 years ago.
looks like they haven't changed the specs since then...
