Everytime there's a books thread on the main forum it goes to like two pages then pruned because their last books read were salinger or r.l. stine 4 years ago :hsugh:

Hopefully you guys are well-read :x: what are you guys reading these days :hay:

I thought Last Exit to Brooklyn was outstanding. :bigthumb:

I just finished Cannery Row by Steinbeck (a re-read from secondary school) and just started The Golden Ratio by Mario Livio.

Read this in 2006. It was really good. I hear they're making a movie adaptation about it. Same author as No Country for Old Men.

Read this too. A little dry but it has some great fundamentals. :hs:

Have you read A Random Walk Down Wall Street by Burton Malkiel? It stands out from the pack. But an entry level survey may only introduce you to a topic in so many ways :hs:

I haven't read them myself so don't take my word for it. I thought Dave Eggers was overrated too just from what I was hearing but i read one of his books and he's alright. Plus I like what he does volunteer-wise for kids :coold:

most of the time i only read books that are a must read lol,
recently i finished "1984" quite a nice read. Right now i am reading "notes from underground". My favorites are "the catcher in the rye", "paula" by Isabel allende, "the stranger" by Albert camus.
