    Hmmm I once had a blacked out screen as well as what looked like confetti all over my monitor. I have pictures of it somewhere, I'll post them later.

    2 years after buying mine - my video card just crapped out. I had to practically beg Apple to send me a fucking box to send it in. I guess if you don't have Applecare, they could give two shits. :rolleyes:

    mine hasn't been scrambling lately, so hopefully i have some screenshots saved if it ever gets buggy again :o

    My Early 2008 17" MBP's screen goes dim every so often (probably a few times a month). I can still see the stuff that's on the screen, but it's extremely dim. If you're not looking at it, it looks as though it's off, but the machine is still on. I have to do a hard reset on the machine to get it back up and working.

    Is this the issue in question? If so, what do you mean "replace it"? Replace the video card or the machine?

    My display died on me almost a year ago, took me two trips to the Apple store and many phone calls to get it fixed. They replaced the logic board for free even though i was 3 months out of warranty.
