If motorcycles gave me boners, that one just wouldn't do it for me. That's what the GSX-R 1000 does for me...

Waiting on real-world dyno #'s before getting excited.... In another thread someone said something about Yamaha claiming last year's R1 was making 150hp, but people were only getting about 130 to the wheel.

    I like it...

but it looks like all the other bikes are starting to copy its lines for next year's models. The Honda, Suzuki, and the Kawi are all very similar in appearance. As far as horsepower, you can have all the power you want, but it's all about how you handle the bike. Besides, the horsepower numbers will be different anyways depending on the mods you make to the bike. Hardly anybody keeps their rides stock. :) Oh yah, and just because Yamaha says it gets 180 hp doesn't mean it will. Even their speedometers are off by a little on their bikes.

I like it alot. This years liter bikes are all awesome. Buyers are very lucky this year. (Although I'm a little disappointed with the new CBR...)

180hp at the crank is what they say. Expect between 140 and 155 at the wheel...

Nothing wrong with the new CBR. Engineering wise, it's awesome and waaay ahead of the competition. Styling wise... Well, the Yamaha wins that one this year.

Which is pretty stupid. The same people who laugh at Civic drivers spending $200 for a 5hp gain from an airfilter are spending over $700 for exhaust systems that also make 5hp.

My favorite is the guy that orders an aftermarket pipe at the same time as buying the bike. He's never ridden the bike, yet he automatically thinks he needs more power.

Nice bike. The only thing that sucks is that everyone and their mother are going to be riding these.

I think most people buy pipes for the sound, not any performance increase.

You're still spending 10% of the vehicle's value for an extra 5hp.

So you think that this is the ugly one....
    ...when compared to this?????!!!![IMG]

You need a new prescription...or get some glasses if you don't got any man.

Edit: I dislike it when Mods use their power to edit other peoples posts. Stop messing with my pics!!!!!!!!!!!

The Yamaha can nevar look ugly compared to a Suzuki end of story.
    Oh yeah...and my 03 R6 rules.

the 180hp claimed figure is with ram air. so you'll only be getting close to that figure when you're going at a decent speed.

anyone that thinks that the GSX-R is even close to the R1 in terms of looks is on crack.. the fat acne riddled mcdonalds worker may be a little harsh.. i would say maybe a female sportscenter anchor vs. penelope cruz..

Hopefully the balance point on this new R1 won't be as shitty as the previous 5. Gixxer1K will still dominate it on the track this year.

R1 is indeed a very good lookin bike, but I dont think its even close to what the new GSX-R 1000 is READ ABOUT THE NEW 1liter ENGINE THEY HAVE IN IT.

R1 is for all yall rigth lane riders.
Nu Gixr 1000 = PURE PERFORMANCE.
