Background: PC is a Dell Optiplex.. older one (when they were still white). Not sure of processor speed, 160mb of RAM running Windows 98. Hold all the "Upgrade to Win2k or XP' comments because our system software does not yet support Win2K or XP. I had Office 2000 installed, and was having a SHITLOAD of Outlook problems. I upgraded to a few of the service packs, but didn't help much. I figured I'd upgrade to Office XP.

Now whenever I go to load any of the Office XP programs, I get the error "Microsoft Word (insert other Office programs here) has not yet been installed for this user. Please run setup to install this program."

So I threw in the disc hoping that I forgot a step, and also went ahead and chose 'repair installation'.. the CD apparently found something that it missed the first time, and installed some more garbage.. rebooted, same story.

    Suggestions? :dunno:

did you select run from disk or install on first run for each program when you installed it?
