Is there Office 2007 for the Mac? I only see 2004... I'm too used to using MS Word and Outlook as my word and email programs. Is Office for the Mac good? Any alternatives that are better?

Office 2007 is Office 2008 on OSX. Comes out January 2008.

    For Windows:
The new office is leaps and bounds better than Office 2003. The ribbon needs some getting used to but once you do its

PowerPC "G" processor line before Intel's. Office 2004 was made for PPC, and runs like shit on intel. (I think theres a patch for it or something though).

there is no intel mac patch for office it runs through emulation using rosetta. microsoft has released security updates for it which you can get just by running the auto updater.

i've been running neo office. it's not bad, hasn't crashed on me yet. only problems i have are slow startup time and it opens a browser window wanting a donation or something when you first open the program. other than that, it's a great free office alternative

Tried open office? I did on my old powerbook and it ran a lot better than neooffice.

the latest version of neooffice is based on open office and seems well optimized. oven launches quickly and runs decent on my ancient DP 500 G4.

does open office still make you use X11? that stuff blows.

I just got Office for Mac and seems to be working fine. The Entourage Mail program that comes with it seems perfect...

I find Entourage is so bloated, and from when I've used it slow as balls. I stick with Mail.
