Wish me luck!
return with video!
I have no means of video recording
If anyone else is taping I'll see if I can get a copy
I bought a $140 point and shoot cannon 7.1 mp camera and a 4 gig SD card. It works great as a video camera. I use it more for video than I do pictures. It is worth picking one up if you want to film this kind of stuff.

anyway great luck and choke a bitch!
and good luck
IB new thread asking for donations...
good luck dude
iPhone unfortunately does not.
I got massacred. Apparently I'm a very small, weak 200lber.
Weighed in at 196. Was only 3 other guys in the 175 to 200lb division. All of them were bloody huge, none looked like they were under 200.
Two of them were just short fat guys, and the one was built like a brick shit house. University wrestler who demolished everyone. Caught me in a Peruvian Neck Tie about 30 seconds into the match. I was just about out before the ref realized I was trying to tap. Wrecked my neck for the rest of the day.
I was out technique the other two guys, who were on the same team, but their brute force strategy worked out and got caught in an arm neck triangle on both of them. Only the one really made me tap from the arm/neck, the other was just wrenching my neck to the point that I didn't want to hurt it further so I submitted.
Over all a shitty, yet fun day. Lesson learned I guess. Drop some body fat and build some muscle/strength.
oh wait i just read the last post. sucks dude
yeah man I always seem to get paired with dudes bigger and stronger than me at tourneys. you just go back and try to improve where you got beat, I am working on my strength and conditioning a lot harder since my last comp.
meh, live and learn. I was expecting to go out and win the thing.
how are you supposed to get the moon off of you?
Reading this sucks.
I'm currently about 197~ give or take a few depending on the time of day.
I know for certain this will happen if I compete. I hate rolling with stocky fat guys who do nothing but drop their weight on you
I'm cutting to ~180
what tourney? didnt hear about it.. not part of the objj tourneys and its not joslins...
glad you had fun... just keep training and work hard.....

Need to start training all aspects of your game, imo. But congrats for actually competing, it'll only make u better
I'll be at Joslin's on the 7th
Good experience man. Next time you'll know what to expect. Adjust your game and weight accordingly.
Good job dude!
175-200 is such a huge gap!
sucks to hear man, but experience is experience.
Ontario Submission Wrestling Alliance. Wasn't really a tournament setup, more of a round robin kind of thing just to get people competing and having fun, which is why I went. I'm nowhere near ready to compete in an actual tournament
I wish there had of been a 180 division, I probably could have dropped to 180 if there had of been. I was originally told the next lowest was 170, which I knew I couldn't reach in that amount of time so I stayed as close to 200 as I could.
experience is experience, and I had a good time, met some good people (there was one Gracie Bara guy there that was helping me out while I was on the mat since I didn't have anybody else with me) and didn't take it too seriously.
I haven't really trained full time in anything other than striking, in a long time. I was contemplating trying this new gym out once I recover from my surgery tomorrow, but instead I think I'm going to spend the winter on the weights and get my strength, weight, and conditioning to where it needs to be and pick back up on training in the spring/summer.
never the right answer.
get back on the mat and let your body adjust to the right weight that way. jiu jitsu isn't about strength and muscles. If it was - Sylva would be able to beat me. This is simply not the case.
