I've been looking for a couple hours now between Google, Strobist, and the Strobist Flickr forum, and just wanted to ask a question..

I found these on the Strobist Flickr forum from a Nikon guy.. http://cgi.ebay.com/4-Channel-Wirel...hZ007QQcategoryZ64354QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem

I just was curious if those would work well with a Canon XTi and a 430EX flash? I am trying to avoid getting all the PC Connection adapters that seem necessary for a few of the wireless trasmitters, and it looks like this set might be the one that works.

Anyone have any experience with these?

    Thanks :)

I own them. If you leave the recievers on, the battery dies. I can only synch at 1/200th instead of 1/250th while using them.

They don't work through water at all, but do go about 100 feet through air.

    can't beat the price.

    Hmmm.

Found this link when searching for sync speeds and stuff, and found it kind of interesting. http://strobist.blogspot.com/2007/05/hacking-your-cameras-sync-speed-pt-1.html

    Saw this comment:

Would that work with XTi and 430EX or only with the combo he mentioned?

Edit: Nevermind. I think I just found my answer.

Seems like the FP and high sync speed only works on camera. :o

I use the shit ebay ones, modded them quite a bit for more range/reliability and AA batteries. I can fire these approx 60metres away (whatever the fuck that is in feet :hsugh: )

Work 999/1000 times, sync at 1/250th on 30D and 1dmkIIn

Use them on paid shoots without hesitation.

The stands they use are straight shithouse though, put them on a rather big flash unit like some of my old Sunpaks and they will collapse and fall on the ground.

For the price I paid for the transmitter, 6 recievers and all my flashes I could not buy 1 pocket wizard in Aus put it that way.

(all my flashes besides one are 20 years old  )

Which "shit" ebay ones do you use? The Gadget Infinity ones or another brand?

if you buy any of the cheap radio triggers, don't buy them from ebay.. they take forever to ship since they're coming from hong kong. Call up the guys at www.mpex.com (they're a sponsor of the strobist site) tell them you saw their banner on strobist.com and you want to buy a set of the gadget infinity V2 triggers. shipping will be much quicker, and cheaper that way.

That's where I was going to get them from  And since I don't have a stand, I was going to possibly get one of the "kits" that they sell for the strobist site.

the stands are only like 25 bucks a piece and will extend up to 10ft... it's nice to have a couple... I actually want to pick up a few more.

maybe 1 out of 5, but I'm guessing the majority of them have been because my batteries are getting low in both the flashes, and the triggers.
