Some kid threw up in my car. Anyone know how to get rid of the odor? It's been cleaned up but there is still a subtle odor. Thanks.

Must not be completely cleaned up. Wet the area, and vacuum up so you can pull the rest of the puke out of the carpet or seats.

Unfortunately, when I threw up in our brand new car (too much Black Label at New Years Eve party)...I first had it steam cleaned and shampoo'd (I didn't want to vacuum that :o)....then I brought home and vacuumed...shampoo'd...febreeze'd...baking soda'd it....still could smell it in the back seat a month later.

I finally just ended up trading the car in :o I hope you're able to get it out.

Do professional detailers charge more when cleaning up barf since it could pose a hazard to their health? I would!

I got a call once about it...

I sent the to someone else :o even though I have a carpet extractor to do most of the work... I can clean up a lot of stuff but just something about human vomit... I would have probably had to clean up two throw up spots in that vehicle...

:dunno: I always tell them I am booked up for the next two weeks and they call someone else. Tough choice, clean up puke or detail a well maintained Lexus. :mamoru:

Hhaha...well put. I gave the poor guy a $20 tip for a $50 service. He almost threw up while shampooing it. :(
