MIL Obtaining military records

    I guess I would get the best answers from here.

    My grandfather fought in Italy during WWII but he died before I was born and I don't have that much contact with the rest of my family - and my dad doesn't know that much about what he did. I'm a war and history freak and would love to know what my grandfather did during the war. So is there a chance I could see his military records? What info would be there? How would I go about doing this? Thanks in advance :cool:

    Yup, all military records are sent to the Records Archive in St Louis.....DD 877 to request a medical or dental record, not sure about service ones.
