    what do you guys do to hit your obliques pretty hard?

    right now im just doing side bends with like 15 pounds :ugh: (on the 45 degree platform)

    im doing 3 sets of 10 reps each side for my obliques

    i really want to know what you guys recommend for obliques. i want to get them stronger. i dont sit in the gym and do frat boy routine to lift. i am relatively new but i am trying to learn and get stronger

    edit: i work obliques on a seperate day from my ab routine and i want to hit them pretty hard with 2-3 exercises.

    2nd edit: oh yah and its only 15 pounds because i only weigh 135 and im weak as fuck. at least i can bench and squat and deadlift more than i weight hehe

    just do those side bends with heavier weight and do side crunches. i pretty much stopped doing oblique work cause i dont wanna fuck up my taper

    side bends.. do with heavier weight.. 15s won't do shiiiiiiiiiiit.

    I feel that obliques are like abs.. you have to be at a certain bf to really enjoy them. They are covered by fat easily. Diet plays a part in their appearance..

    I do weigthed incline russian twist + DB side bends on different days, it seems to work nicely.

    Take a 45 pound plate and do as many side bends as you can do in 60 seconds or just do 100 reps per each side.

    i noticed this shit as well. the more i work obliques (sidebends and russian twists mainly), the more thick i was and the more i was losing my v-shape. didnt even think about the fact it was prolly dude to my weak shoulder size and oblique work. 2+2 does equal 4 caribou, duh.

    thanks for all of the tips guys. and yeh i have incredibly low body fat so my obliques do show... then again im on a high protein , medium carb, very low fat diet right now so i am watching what i am eating.

    I mainly stick with side planking, and russian twists. Keep the waist more narrow than doing side bends. THose had my core looking kind of thick for a while.

    Instead of working them out, cutting the fat around them would make them look much better.
