I think I remember reading he would be in favor of a gun registration.

2nd amendment issues are a lose for emocrats. Michael Moore even thinks so :o

I don't see a CHP ban happening, ever. Not with the swing gun rights have had in the last decade even with the brady idiots running around

I want to see a quote before I believe this. I bet that bill said that people who claim self-defense don't have to go on trial to determine if it really was self-defense, or some nonsense like that. In that case, I'd vote against it too.

    As I said before,

I'll give up all my guns if he and all other politicians give up their armed secret service protection

    :)

Any politician who is based out of a big, dense, diverse city will be anti-gun. D.C., NYC, Chicago. That's what the RESIDENTS want, so that's what the politician will want as well. Not a surprise from Obama. Although the blanket statement of saying he opposes self-defense is strange. It's probably more along the lines of something liek Maryland law, where you have to show that you first tried to run away before eventually giving the intruder a lead sandwich.

I'm more interested in what someone like Mayor Bloomberg thinks.

Based on his banning of duracoat (paint for guns) I think we all know Bloomberg is VERY anti gun.

I am very sad because our country is shitting on the very things that made us a country in the first place.

No matter who gets into office, we're screwed.

i think the most they will get passed is another AWB. the MOST.

i will buy at least 2 more lowers and start to put something together by years end, i don't plan on finishing them though...

I definitely will be buying a few lowers. My worry is that the new AWB may state that the guns must be in their final assembled config to remain legal. And I won't have the funds to do that.

i'm for sure going to get at least an AK47, an AK74 and an AR receiver. i'm just kicking around the idea of getting 3-4 more so i can have 1-2 to register (should that happen in CA again) :dunno:

Thats like saying you'd need to see a quote to prove that richard dawkins really doesn't like that jesus guy. Obama is as anti as anti's come, his legislative record speaks for itself.

The 1994 bill really required that but the burden of proof would be on the gov to prove that your guns were not complete pre ban and thats difficult to do.

not really. First of all, the "burden of proof" NEVER lies on the government. When you are accused of something you had better prove you're not guilty. And history has demonstrated that time and time again.

Secondly, it wouldn't be hard to demonstrate, anywya... I mean I can take some pics of my S&W upper on all of the lowers... But then they are only good for THAT config. When I buy the uppers that I want (like a nice 20" match, and maybe a .50 beo or a 7.62x39) then they can easily prove they were ordered AFTER the ban and would not be valid configs.

I just hope that they don't pass a ban. It didn't work the first time, it won't work this time.
