so i decided to put some oats in my protein shake. I blended them up with a coffee grinder, and they turned out pretty nice.

i put them into my shake and shook it up, but now i realized they are all at the bottem in just one big glob :greddy:

how else can i mix my oats w/ my shake, and actually able to drink it?

    1) cook the oats while getting the rest of the shake ready
    2) blend a little longer than you normally would
    3) ????
    4) profit (get swoll)

I've never had a problem with the oats settling at the bottom with a blender, therefore, I reccomend the blender. Maybe you dont have enough force to shake the contents thoroughly?

I realize that. But then he states that he shakes it up, leading me to believe that while he blends his oats, he doesn't blend his shakes.

but if he uses a shaker and only has oats and protein in water, then no need for a blender, right?

i want one of those puree things and turn my oats into powder.

I would say that he needs the blender. He clearly doesn't have any testicles and can't produce enough force for the oats to be dispersed evenly among the shake.

I have a puree setting on my blender..........

I blend my oats until it's a fine powder. I used to just blend them until coffee ground consistency, but bits would get stuck in my throat when drinking it. After blending them for a lot longer to a powder, they just thicken up my shake nicely.

throw a banana or something in there to give the shake some thickness, and it'll hold the oats in suspension longer. or just give the shake a quick stir before each chug; thats what i do. steel-cut oats sink to the bottom right away.

I usually have a banana in my shakes and the oats never sink. Last nite I did a no-banana one and they sank right to the bottom. So b-a-n-a-n-a-s for the win.
