Looks like all the gun control, waiting periods, magazine restrictions, and other ludicrous restrictions in CA are really working at slowing down the violent crime rates.

    It's sickening almost.

Great article, tough to link it to gun control though.

Easy to link it to Cali's forward- (rectal) thinking liberal (retard) progressive (goddamn idiotic) policies, though :bigthumb:

Seems like a pretty clear explanation of the causes of gun violence to me.

I'd be interested to see how the brady campaign would spin this story to blame the killing on the suburban family man who has an AR-15 or a pistol with a 13 round mag.

Coming from someone who was born and raised in the ghettos of Oakland, who work in an organization that is designed to keep youth from going down the wrong paths, I gotta say that is a great article. It really speaks the truths. Anyone who says that people are born equal and its up to themselves to "pull themselves up with their own bootstraps" should read that article.

And coming from a gun owner in California, "Gun laws can't reach places like East and West Oakland. Rarely do boys go get a gun and kill - the gun is already there." That is the FUCKING TRUTH. People really need to realize this.

Don't forget about east palo alto

I could probably get on with Oakland PD and they start at 72K a year WITHOUT overtime. But I don't think a Glock 22 is going to do much against a neighborhood full of MAC 10's and other Glock fo-tays

Oakland needs more community policing. All too much the police are seen as "against me" and not "with me." More officers need to get out of their cars and walk around once in a while to meet the people they are serving. I sure as hell would feel more connected to them and more inclined to help them if they need it.

And with that said...dont let that article let you think that all hope is lost around here. There are people coming out these poor neighborhoods and doing good in society. There are also people who overcome those barriers and go back into their communities to help others get out. There just needs to be more support (money) for those types of programs.

I dont think it would make a difference how much sucking up the cops do. As soon as they try to arrest someone it's us and them again.

I think everywhere needs more of that. Cops are seen as the enemy and not the neighborhood friend trying to keep things peaceful

Those streets have to be safe enough to walk first. A couple of cops walking a beat are nothing but a couple of gigantic bullseye targets.

Maybe we need to bring the military home from all the ridiculous places they are on the planet OTHER than here, and reign in some of the areas like this in our country.

Other countries do it. Walk around France... you'll see military walking around too. They can do it, because they don't have their military in 5 million other countries trying to change everyone else but themselves.
