I would never trust a ny times article on fitness
the average people this article is geared for has zero intensity in their workouts

I agree, you're more likely to catch a cold in a gym than help one. But I do train with a cold at home.

If I don't have muscle aches or a fever then I hit the gym with the cold... Often if makes me feel better.

If I have a fever though, FORGET IT. You risk serious problems with dehydration and such if you're not careful.

I usually train through illness. Strength stays surprisingly high.

I've had a cold for a couple weeks and it has turned into some type of respiratory thing and went to the gym last night and my strength was surprising high on decline BB bench and incline DB bench.

I noticed I became exhausted much sooner though.
