    So I bought a Geforce 4 Ti4200 today and I can't install anything Nvidia...drivers, nvDVD, nview etc.

When ever I run them I get the error message: "An installation support file could not be installed. Class not registered"

After going through tech support they said that I need to perform a repair on my registry and to do that I need the XP CD, which I don't have of course :o. Can somebody please help me out here? Is there any other why to fix this problem?

Before I called tech support I found this online suggestion, to delete HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{00020420-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\InprocServer32

Did I exacerbate the problem by doing this? :o

Not that this really solves your problem, but you could try omega drivers for the time being.

    and see if those work.
