Has anybody heard when the next batch of graphic cards are coming out? I did a google search and rumors are november, but has anybody heard anything more concrete? I'm building a new system and would like it ready to go for COD4. But if nvidia is releasing a 9800gtx for xmas I can wait a month.

im planning on building a PC as well in november. is it better to wait for this new stuff coming out? i'd like to do high end gaming, armature video editing, and web design which doesn't need a decent pc. planning on buying a mid/high range PC

    nothing concrete, just speculations.

    things I hear:

    - It's twice as powerful as the 8 series
    - over 1 teraflop shader processing power
    - there will be 1GB GDDR4 graphics memory models
    - DX10.1
    - 9" to 13" long
    - recommended Power Supply: 500W minimum

    Prices:
    Low/Mid range: $199 to $249
    9800 GTS: $349 to $449
    9800 GTX: $549 to $699

When the 8 series came out, the 7 series drops prices 20%-50% immediately.
Though I think "DirectX9 vs DirectX10" has a huge play on it. That may not be a factor this time.

On the chips, it's hard to determine because Intel and AMD is in a price war.

I read on some other forum that since ATI has nothing to compete against the 8800 gtx that nvidia wasn't going to release anything anytime soon. Its possible they are going to wait for vista sp1, and directx 10.1 Did anybody else hear this?

i really want the 9000 series to hit shelves.. im dying to build a new pc

if you watch one of those UTIII videos i find it hard to believe that the 8000 series will handle it perfectly at the higher levels. At least in a larger multiplayer server.

    It's a rumor going around.

The R600 cards are crap. They were rushed just to meet DirectX10.
The supposed fix or the so called "8800GTX/Ultra killer" is the R650 (Radeon HD 2950 XTX and HD 2950XT).

When ATI release these,... Nvidia is supposed to release the 8900s.
I don't think this is true.
