lol i just got my digicam a few days ago. 4X optical/3Xdigital...not much compared to you guys bigshot cameras...but it was freaking expensive to me! i jsut wanted one that fit in my front pocket, recorded video/sound, and wouldn't break the bank.

Mine is x4 optical too. Casio EX-P600 for £298. I'm going to look around the sales for a decent DSLR even though I'm a n00b to see what's about. I was planning on saving some cash but I REALLY want a decent camera to go along side the almost P+S camera I have now. There are some shots I've missed out on already. The Casio is fantastic for the price, it just can't get those great long shots.

At the mall mine was $350. but i got it from bananapc.com for $250:) lol. It's a Casio EX-Z40, my first digital camera. i figured i shoudln't spend too much on a camera that i had NO idea what it was capable of...so i got a decent P+S one i can play with till' i learn more.

Mine was ~ 400 and is not a point and shoot... 12 x optical and 4 x digital brings total to 48 x right?

    32x would be like 35-1120mm, and 48x like 35-1680mm?
    Yes? No?

Shishcobob was telling me that lens is 125k and requires a 30k down payment before Canon even builds the lens for you.
