I put the DVD in my Macbook and reboot, holding Option. I come to the Boot Camp screen, and I choose "DVD". The gray screen with the dark gray Apple logo appears, then the animated icon under the Apple logo shows up. The installation gets stuck at this stage.

I've done everything I can think of. Deleted APE, restarted, tried to install from iPod, from DVD, etc. Nothing works :(

are you using a legit disk, or is it possible it could be fucked up.

    what you should do:
insert dvd into computer while its on and running
a screen will pop up that says if u want to install press restart
you click restart and it begins the install when it reboots

no need to hold down option and boot from dvd.

If you're using a burned copy it's going to sit there for a good 5-10min. At least mine did, before going to the install screen. I thought it was frozen too, but you eventually hear the DVD being accessed. And you should be holding "C" to boot from the CD. Not "option".

This was when I was using a build of Leopard too.

I held down 'C' before. Same result.

and I left mine going on overnight to see if anything would happen. I woke up to a nice Apple logo and that spinning wheel animation.
