im starting university in sept. :)
and i have been thinking that a notebook may be a good idea.

but i know nothing about notebooks!

    - i need something light
    - i need something relativly thin
    - need batteries to last from 8:30-4:30 (on and off use)
    - less than 2k

    what do you suggest?
    models / make ????

    thanks :big grin:

the only reason to get a laptop for university is to play games+browse web in class. so you first have to ask yourself if that worth the extra premium they put on laptops. for me, i chose 'no', skipped class and played at home on my desktop.

i'm lucky my employer didn't ask about my gpa :hs:
  3. I wouldn't reccomend getting a laptop for school unless you're using it only for typing/taking notes and instant messaging.

If you're using it for anything else like movies, music, graphics, or heavy gaming... then i would go with a desktop.

You'll thank me in the long run if you do so. Laptops just don't have the ability to hold as much data as most people want, they're slower than PC's and the graphics cards usually blow.

    Thats just my 2cents though

(oh yeah, i'm a computer graphics major, so I would die if I had a laptop :ugh: )
