The 5D2 beats the DsMkII in
    • Image quality
    • Resolution
    • Noise control
    • Dynamic Range
    • Video (obviously)
    • Battery life (from what Ive seen)
    • LCD screen
The DsMkII beats the 5D2 in
    • Rugged build
    • Autofocus
All that being said, the 5D2 is weather sealed to a stronger degree than most other bodies and Ive found the 5D2 to track on center point just as well as my MkIII did (and Im not the only one who says so).

I dont know how much the DsMkII goes for today but if the price is near the same, theres no way I would go for the DsMkII over the 5D2.

    Just my two cents.

    I have a 1dsmk2, Im fucking it off for a 5d2

that would answer your question pretty much.

Only thing I will miss is it's build quality, I am brutal on bodies.

just out of curiosity ... why?

i can understand if they're on a boom or something and end up smacking against the ground or something... but if you're tossing your camera around (like I see NFL photogs in the endzone doing all the time, and with giant lenses attached), i guess i don't really get it.

    :dunno:

I put my camera on the ground, and i'm very rough with it. It gets beaten around here and there, knocking against walls and shit when you're in the middle of a rushed-photoshoot and time is running out.

So I understand Brasher's point of view.

I used to be pedantic about how I treated my stuff, but the fact is It can take it! I do worry about the lenses though.

It's not like I throw it or anything, It gets a few bumps here and there.
