My 2000 LS, V8 Sport. Gets me from "A" to "B" in style :coolugh:.

My summer car is my first car, a 92 Cougar. Black leather interior, true dual 2.5" exhaust, Art Carr AOD, 4.30 gears, 5.0 w/Edelbrock heads, Holley intake, and a Vortech V2 on the way :hsd:. Should run 11's.

I always liked those old Thunderbirds/Cougars. Muscle cars without the muscle stock. :hs:

Gawd I wish people would stop putting gun-metal rims on domestic cars. Its like fusion-modding.

LOL, yeah - I painted both sets of my LS wheels using Dupli color paint. Before I bought the LS I already had LS wheels on the Cougar. And for winter wheels the stock 16" Cougar wheels came in handy for the LS. Wierdest swap yet on OT I bet :big grin:.

They're both going to be powdercoaded black this spring, with a polished lip. Hopefully I can get a volume discount .

Yeah, even the Cougar was pretty slow before modding - and it had a 5.0 High Output in there, stock motor. The 4.30's are great with the stock motor, but when the SC'd and built 5.0 goes back in the gears will have to go back to 3.73's. Otherwise I'll have to use overdrive in the 1/4 .

    Thanks for the props guys.

Nothing wrong with the LS. I think it's a pretty sharp looking car. Nice rides.

Well, compared to even new cars - both of them are slow! In 92 when the Cougar was new it was one of the faster everyday cars on the road. Now even Honda Accords smoke it:crying:. The 5.0 kinda falls on it's face over 70mph, it's just got alot of low end grunt.

And when compared to the 'muscle car' era of the 60's and 70's, they're both slow too.

Which is why I'm SC'ing the 5.0 :naughty: - no BS, it should run high 11's.

And as for the RS - it'd be in the low 15's as well, right? I know the LS can run 15.3, but I've only done 15.4. And the Cat has done the 1/4 in about 15.2, but it's got traction issues. It'll need slicks with the new engine, 15.2 was done on 17" street tires.

Give it a good rebuild. New gaskets, updated cam, better fuel delivery will help bring it back. NOthing wrong with 5.0's, just need a little "freshin up".

Heh, it's getting a bit more than a 'freshin up' ;).

Edelbrock heads, Holley "SysteMAX" intake (best flowing intake available for the 5.0 over 3000rpm's), built bottom end (Eagle I beam rods, ARP bolts throughout), topped off with a Vortech V2 SQ supercharger.

Hooked up to an Art Carr "Extreme AOD" (capable of a maximum of 600hp), with a 3200 (estimated) stall converter.

It's going to destroy this car, it's already got 160k miles on it, things are going to break. But that's cool - cause I plan on dumping the drive train into an 05 Mustang in a few years .

And the LS wasn't bought to go fast - only to impress the ladies - and give me luxurious dependable transportation.
