    It happens in both Firefox and Safari and Safari isn't a beta copy either. Nobody in my office can figure out what's going on.

    It happened on mine the same time my niece turned on the voice thing. I don't know what it's called and I'm not on my mac. But I assumed it was something to do with that. When I turned it off, the lettering thing was gone.

    my mac at home works just fine. I'm on an older G3 at my office that's way past it's prime.

    Did you recently install MS Office? My friend ran into a similar problem that had to do with a program installing additional fonts that would hose up the browsers.

    Much to my surprise, vista hasn't given me a single problem since I started farting with it on my laptop and the speed of the system has been good as well.

    Time will tell.
