I use to be sore all the time before, but for some reason this past week I don't get sore at all... and I constantly max out my highest weight at the gym. Is there something wrong? I haven't been getting enough sleep lately could that be a contributing factor? :o

Unless you're a serious newbie you shouldn't be sore all the time, otherwise it's a good sign you're overtraining.

this is kind of stupid to say. lol. gotta keep it pushing and change shit up. i try to aim to get sore EVERY work out and try to DEMOLISH that muscle group. I think too many people mask their laziness with "I dont want to overtrain."

to the thread starter, try to focus more on form, do some drop sets, supersets, and stop maxing out for a change. shock your muscles and try something like FST-7.

soreness is not a sign of muscle growth. the only thing soreness means is that you were sore thats it.

    soreness doesn't really mean shit.

measure how effective your routine is by the progress you make.

I stretched for like 3 minutes last week before setting 2 pr's on leg day (DL/Hang clean) and I wasnt sore at all the next day.

I've never stretched before, and I'm ALWAYS sore but I think it helps.

i used to get sore when i only worked out 4x/week...recently i've been working out every day and never get sore. Being intense and going till failure on AT LEAST your last set per exercise should be your focus. Don't rely so much on soreness to determine how well you trained.

Since soreness can be caused by things other than exercise, he's taking that to mean that they're unrelated because he's an idiot.

no you are an idiot soreness does not correlate to muscle growth. some people never get sore and still grow muscle. if i just wanna get sore i can bench 135 for sets of 100 and i wont grow. i am almost never sore unless i take a long break form training if im getting stonger on all my lifts does that mean im not growing.
