Whenever I run Norton systemworks it says I have 23 errors with the registry.
Now I was a mac user and I have deleted some programs without uninstalling them. So I'm guessing some of that is the problem? Now how can I fix this or is this normal? I don't know how to edit the registry. Also it always comes up with errors in the short cuts.

Don't delete programs without uninstalling them unless you know that they don't use the registry.

Your best bet will be to backup important stuff and reformat and start from scratch. Your system will preform much smoother and quicker, as well as getting rid of those errors.

You click on the "fix all errors" button and your problems are solved.

If the errors are still there, refer to DatacomGuy's suggestion if it bugs you.

Chances are it won't cause any problems. Sure your registry is bloated and it'll take you longer to boot up, but nothing crucial and highly unlikely to crash your system.

also look for software like RegCleaner, it becomes much easier cleaning up the registry.
