Could the northbridge overheat in like 10 seconds so it freezes before its even out of the initial bios boot screen? the heatsink / fan fell off of the northbridge chip and it feels like ever since that happened the computer wont boot up.. Do you think that getting some thermal paste and a new fan will allow the chip to keep cool enough? I'm not sure if the chip is fried or not.. The computer hasn't been on in like 4 or 5 months, and as soon as I try to turn it on, it gets to detecting memory / drives in the BIOS and it just freezes... Do you think this is what could be happening??
