Yeah, I saw that a few days ago. No wonder NO has such problems, they're more interested in the color of a veteran officer's shirt than stopping criminals.
... unless you're playing with guns with your boss apparently.
Oh the ironing:
I think the officer should sue for racism.
What a bunch of assholes. To do that to a guy on his last day is just cold hearted.
Not Our Problem Dude
You heard good about it before the storm?
What a fucking joke. That whole city is a fucking joke.
Based on what's in the article, it sounds like crap, but you never really know from a single article.
I imagine he had some petty enemies that found this one way to get back at him.
That post just made the depts email....
On one hand...
The guy is retiring, rules are made to be broken.
I have zero issues for bending the rules in such a case.
Also, he gave a really good reason. He wanted to show respect to his fellow officers that gave there life during his service. I think this is an appropriate way of doing it.
On the other hand:
That is an EXCELLENT reason for NO police to demand a change of uniform.
You want to keep the possibility that a criminal can dress like a cop to some sort of minnimum.
If you have some cops in blue, others in black and then a no goodie gets his hands on an old uniform - that is trouble.
To finish off the issue you have officers that have spent some of there career in the blue uniforms bitching that the blue ones are 'oh so much more comfortable' then the black ones and publicly bitchin about the new uniforms.
For me the bottom line is that this was the guys last day. Bend the rules for him.
Especially since they decided to go back to the blue.
is this entire dept. run by naggers?
