How many people here are really into computers/electronics and shit but really don't have a lot of interest in gaming? I still play games on consoles and shit sometimes, but just am not all that interested in em, yet am really into computer and stuff. Seems like most people like myself are big into gaming..

Back when I was 12, I was a huge gaming fan. But back then all we had was an Atari 2800 (I think that was it - its been a while!) and then an Apple //e. Towards the end of highschool, I bought with my own money a pretty nice 386 machine and did both gaming and coding (mainly C - but I did more gaming then coding). Each year I played less and less. Then there was a point I'd just play when there were friends around to do some network gaming (FPS or Warcraft/C&C).

I think 2003 was the first year I didn't have any urge to play games. I'm either working during the day. Working during the evening. Or I'm in school. If I'm even THINKING of playing a game, then I think to myself, what else do I have scheduled to do before I play? Or is there something else I could be doing that could help me make a buck? And I almost always find something more productive to do (usually web dev coding).

Gaming is fun, but I've gotten to the point in my life were if I have time to game, I'm not using my time wisely or I'm not getting outside enough... Although I think this is a sign I'm getting old...

same, but i mostly run the events. my last one was a huge success for my CISSA (Computer Information Systems Student Assocation) at my college.

We found a place that let us rent out all 40 of their computers for 10h for $15 per person.

    it was a hit.

I'm a huge geek, but I still enjoy some Quake, CS or DoD when I get the chance. Which is rather often with my job at school. :big grin:

If I'd just edited it, it would say "edited by Penguin Man on whatever" at the bottom. I edited it like 30 seconds after I posted it.

I waste so much time gaming it's incredible, I know it's wasted, but oh well I enjoy it, it keeps me happy, few things do, and sometimes it's a thrill like no other.

I usually play at least 4 hours a day, how it ends up being is work, then home, and gaming t'il I go to bed....quite sad, I sit in front of a computer all day, but it's fun, I love it, I am just hoping for my own sake, health wise especially I find some other hobby that dosent involve sitting in front of my monitor gaming
