yar. i know what you mean. you seem to be the music expert around here, plus that and you're australian i think i could get some help from you.

these are my favorite songs right now; based upon these choices could you help me find some good music?
    quarashi - stick em up
    soil - breaking me down
sum 41 - the hell song
    sr-71 - right now
muse - time is running out
guano apes - open your eyes

mabye your ultra-sleek knowledge for dissing bands combined with your one-year-ahead-of-american-culture point of view can point out some good songs for me. :x:

How about I give you a list of what Im digging right now.

The Stooges - The Stooges - just picked it up on vinyl finally and Im really really into it again, its taking me back to being a teenager

Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures - bought it again at the same record sale. Awesome album.

A Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower - Dissertation, Honey - Heavy rock verging on hardcore verging on math rock with a bit of free jazz thrown in for good measure. Bits of it will make you bang your head till your neck breaks and other bits will make you want to move your feet like they're on fucking fire

Love Like... Electrocution - She Was Red Hot - Aussie band, again borderline screamo/emo, I and a few friends of mine dubbed this shit spazzcore, because the only way you can dance to it, and trust me, you will want to, is like a fucking retard. Just fucking TRY to keep up with the timing changes, I dare ya.

Notwist - Neon Golden - Ex hardcore band once again who turned very mellow indie. Some electronic sounding beats and clanging fucking noisy guitars over the top. I don't delve into this sort of shit often but I was rewarded this time.

Q and Not U - Different Damage - A little more New-wave than their first release, which was fairly strict post-hardcore/mild spazzcore, this album is very different from a lot of stuff around lately. Track 2, So Many Animal Calls, is fucking standout. Try not to band on your desk with your fists to this song.

TV on The Radio - Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes - You know all those cool parts in Peter Gabriel songs that got ruined by the rest of the song? Well this is all of the good bits in one. The singer sounds like some crazy gospel singer, and the tracks are without fail atmospheric, spooky, and really moving.
