I don't have a spotter and today is chest day.
Should i just use machines and dumbells?
just ask some random person

just ask for a spot.. but don't keep asking the same person...
or if you don't want to ask anyone use dumbbells. you'll be fine.

Ask or do what you can get up without the bar falling on you.

I hardly ever use a spotter. Fear of being crushed is a better motivator than any.
same, i finally stopped pussyhurting and switched from dumbells to primarily bb bench. people may ask if i need a spot sometimes for the last rep (im usually trembling a bit) but it still gets up.
Just ask a random person...I do it sometimes and sometimes people ask me.

I usually just use dbs. I find that I'm too distracted/not confident enough if I don't have a spotter on bb and my weight difference is substantial. I could ask for a spotter no worries but I don't like having to rely on trusting someone to be there the right amount when they don't know my form plus I hate having to work around other people.
Use the smith machine if your that worried, and set the catches.
Im not using a spotter. and when im there in teh mornings im all alone so no one to ask
and no one to see you get stapled
just ask someone else.
A lot of people ask me to spot for them at the gym and I don't mind at all.
