forms have not yet been mailed off. Shitty pics are due to being in a rush and on my lunch "couple hours" to run down there & pay for it, get him to sign the form 4, and get back to work. I cannot wait to get to the range to use this sexy bitch. Paperwork gets mailed off next week, then I begin a long long wait.

but if it had to have a model name, it's a Ruger AC556. Mini-14 with greatness installed as a factory option.

No lie, thats part of why I bought it. A mac-10 would have been cheaper, but this lets me go all A-Team. Now to get a GMC van, black it out, paint a red stripe, and then load up on blanks.

Although, given gas prices, I suppose I should go more modern with it:

mini-14's shoot like shit from the factory stock. Why on earth would you want one with a cut down barrel and giggle switch? Minute of Barn just became Minute of Stadium :run:

Well you could have clark customs do their magic on it. They can make a mini shoot. The newer mini's seem to shoot. The old ones were really hit or "miss". Mostly miss.

You do realize this wasn't bought to be some hyper-accurate rifle, right?

Not sure what your definition of hyper accurate is. Yes I assumed it would not be a MOA rifle but it definately be more interesting if you could get some more accuracy out of it. I mean if your going to drop the kind of $$$ on a class III then some accuracy work would be a good investment. You don't need a match barrel, but you could tighten things up tolerence wise, fix the rifle so it doesn't throw the brass into the next zip code like mini's do.

Im not a fan of the AC556, but the factory warranty that comes with them is a plus.

this first barrel will most likely be shot out within a few range trips, then back to ruger for factory work to be done(meaning, install a new barrel.) If i were looking for accuracy, I wouldn't have bought the 13" model, and I'd have gotten the full stock instead of the folder.

This thing was bought to turn money into noise. The bulk of its work will be done with a .22 conversion installed.

Whatever gets your rocks off. While not ideal the 5.56/223 shoots pretty good out of the shorter barrels at least in the sbr AR and pistol AR platform.

Why is the chamber stamped "$1.25USD" instead of ".223 Rem"?

I came in here to hate, but you bought the Mini for the only acceptable reason of ownership... A-team love. So no hate from me. Even got the folder. Nice.

ATF finally approved it , headed down tomorrow to pick it up. Now I just gotta mail off the MG registration (one of the crappier parts of VA gun laws) and then heat that bitch up with 3rd bursts until I find a decent outdoor range to really let her run through ammo.

That's my daily driver. Though the (duct tape) stripes have fallen off, and the light bar flew off the roof when I was going about 90 down the highway. It's still pretty badass.
