I installed VMware Server 1.0.4 and installed a brand new WinXP Pro SP2 (32 bit) into it. I installed the VMware Tools and rebooted when prompted. The Ethernet controller and the SCSI controller are still listed in device manager without drivers. I found the c:\program files\vmware\wmware tools\drivers folder on the guest computer and tried reinstalling drivers by pointing to the appropriate folder but it says there's no driver there. I also tried letting it search the entire VMware Tools virtual CD for drivers and it again can't find any. WTF? The mouse, video, and audio drivers loaded no problem. But without Ethernet, its pretty useless.

Oh, I also created a new Win98 VM and a Vista x86 VM and had no problems with drivers.
