Meh. It was good, but I still think There Will Be Blood deserved Best Picture over it.

The ending is better the second time you watch the movie.
At least it leaves you with a weird feeling.

this movie was utter failure. i was bored to death watching it, and Tommy Lee Jones did just about nothing in it. Michael Clayton was waaaaayyy better

seriously tho, aside from the acting, what was so good about the movie? the pace was rather slow, the story quite simple, and what was the significance of Tommy Lee Jones' character? he didn't do much throughout the movie. i seriously enjoyed michael clayton much more

Tommy Lee Jones was actually the main character.
It was all about him getting too old to catch today's criminals.
There is another thread somewhere in this forum explaining more of the movie.
I liked it better the 2nd time I watched the movie.

ok i read most of that post. maybe this movie is too deep for me. honestly i watch movies for pure entertainment, not for philosophical sub-meanings and reading between the lines. :dunno: i guess this movie just wasn't made for me. i watched No Country and Clayton both in the same day, and I dont know why I enjoyed Clayton more. maybe it was just simply easier to understand and it was a more exciting movie in general.

maybe ill try to watch No Country again... these "artsy" types of movies always win the Best Picture and my brain is too simple to understand why.

It gets better when you watch it a second time after reading that post I linked. At least this time, you aren't caught off guard right at the end.
I really don't think it is an "artsy" type of film. More of a thought provoking film.

i guess thats what i meant, a movie that actually needs you to think and digest it. an acquired taste if you will. i guess i just like some straight up entertainment

I want the two hours of my life back. I thought that movie was painfully slow and boring to watch.

any one want to buy a blue ray copy of ncfom?

i can't understand how anyone disliked this movie. it's everything that hollywood has abandoned. an actual script that contains some plot that requires you to actually think.
