    Vid and story here: http://www.woodtv.com/Global/story.asp?S=8077323

This has been a pretty divisive story here lately. Long story short, the two guys had bad blood and happened to run into eachother at a gas station. Attacker attempted to strike the shooter with a 4 pound trash can lid and the shooter drew and shot one time, start to finish in under 4 seconds. Shooter was a valid CCW holder with no criminal record.

This is about the third self defense shooting in the past 6-8 months. Thankfully our local prosecutor is a firm believer in castle doctrine.

Im glad to see the shooter used Paul Ledford. I carry his business card in my wallet, and he did the legal section of my CCW class. Top-notch guy.

Yep. Little expensive, but its a one-day with on-site indoor shooting, which is an obvious step above anyone else. just do it!

I would like to hear from people who feel as though carrying with an empty chamber is fine.

I used to... not any more.

I still do when transporting in its case, not when carrying.

I think the public comments section is particularly interesting. Seems to be a good split b/t people who agree and those who think it's murder. Lots of people advocating for him to shoot for the leg or jump back into the truck to retreat. Clearly people had no idea what Michigan law says. The prosecutor is spot on. I'll agree that it sucks someone had to die for such a stupid reason, but the law is clear.

What sort of idiots are we raising that want to gamble that the man coming at you with a giant steel plate might only want give you a few love taps with it?

This incident reminds me of firefly:
You murdered yourself. I just carried the bullet a while.

From what I saw in the video, the shooter was completely justified. The attack looked extremely aggressive. Ted must have been on high alert to be able to draw like that. Pretty impressive

Definitely had his hand on or very near the gun, ready to draw. Looks like he even hesitated pulling the trigger, letting the guy start his swing to make sure. Hard to miss at that range.
