hay guys I was at fry's the other day and saw this receiver which is kinda attractive to me from a price point and feature standpoint. But I can see that the quality of the unit isn't too great so could you guys point me in the direction of some better options with a similar feature set? It's going into my old civic, which has never had a working stereo the whole time I've owned it so pretty much anything would be an improvement. Also I dont have an alarm so I don't want anything too flashy and I dont even really care about a CD player. Aux in and USB are really the two things I'd want most in a head unit.

I know this one is only $40 but I am willing to pay more for a quality unit. I just don't want to pay for stuff I'm sure I won't use (like the CD player), I'd rather pay more to make sure I get something that will last. This is probably the exact opposite of the type of questions you're used to ... thanks in advance.

you can get a name brand (kenwood, pioneer) for around $65. It's going to have a CD plyer, b/c no one really makes it w/o one anymore (besides the radio you found). Check Best Buy.

I play a CD in my vehicle like once a month and the radio isn't even hooked up.
    MP3 ftw.

It won't be too long before CD players in head units are as rare as tape decks are.

If anyone else can link to units without a CD player I would be interested as well, I have no need for one and think it would actually be cool to not have one.
