I know our state is a pain in the neck as far as acquiring rifles and pistols, but I want to know what my fellow New Jerseyan's are packing.

I have my XD40 on order & I would like a rifle to round out the rack.

I am torn between a proper hunting rifle (Remington 700) & a plinking rifle (AK)

    :mamoru:

    Lets see.

Which part of NJ are you in?

So far I'm in love with my 700SPS, with some match ammo I was able to shoot a good .5"

I'm in North Jersey, northern part of somerset county.

How about you? I am still looking for a good place from where to purchase.

The remington's are great, just going to have to take some time to tune that sucker in.

I'm up in Morris County. Depends on what you are looking for and the selection, plus how far you are willing to go for the shop. The Bullet Hole in Belleville is an excellent place to go to and their little 25yd shooting range is pretty cool, although it gets real packed. If you want, message me on aim some time, origyns973.

    Edit: Meant .5" @ 100yds

I picked it up right after the election from Arms and Ammo, in south Jersey, don't think he has anymore. Its a cop that does it on the side.

    thanks!

I will give them a call to get some more info.

My buddy who picked up the 700p went to this place called Caso's in Jersey City.

He said their service is excellent, the people that run it are all competition shooters. He went to pick up the rifle near closing time (5pm) , he got there at 4:40 and they spent two hours with him setting up the rifle. They had their gunsmith drive 40 minutes to the store to properly install his harris bipod and his leupold, as well as recalibrate the trigger.

I haven't been there yet, myself, but I plan on going in to speak with them sometime soon.

I will keep you all posted on my experience.

 I grew up there. Most of my Jersey friends don't own firearms. One friend makes up for it. He loves Walther. Owns five or six of their pistols.
